How to provide complete nutrition to your pre-schooler

Providing complete nutrition to your preschooler is important for their growth and development. I didn’t realize its importance till my little one started to show signs of anemia. Here I thought that I was feeding him well but it turns out that preschoolers need specific nourishment that covers all the nutrients required. Upon his pediatrician visit, I was given a list of foods he should consume on a daily and weekly basis.

This list consisted of calories in a meal and the amount of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, and vitamins. So there I was with a nutrition plan in my hand and no idea how to maintain it, therefore I got a meal kit service for toddlers and preschoolers after reading Little Spoon reviews.

Little Spoon was like the helping hand that I never knew I missed. I got the preschooler package with vitamin boosters, and even though my first order was a lot I got a discount with a Little Spoon coupon code. Some of the things I did apart from getting Little Spoon meal kit service was making some changes.

Include a variety of foods

Offer your child a variety of foods from all the food groups, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein sources, and dairy products. Never include genetically modified fruits in their diet as these foods are going to weaken their immune system. There will be frequent infections, colds, fatigue, and restlessness.

Offer frequent, healthy snacks

Provide your child with healthy snacks throughout the day to help keep their energy levels up. Snacks can include fruits, vegetables, yogurt, cheese, nuts, or whole-grain crackers.

Limit processed and sugary foods

Try to limit your child’s intake of processed and sugary foods, such as candy, soda, and chips. These foods can provide empty calories and are not nutrient-dense.

Encourage hydration

Ensure that your child is drinking plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated. You can also offer milk or 100% fruit juice in moderation. It might be the slightest task in your opinion but hydration will help absorb nutrients. The loss of electrolytes on the playground can deeply affect your child’s health.

Consider Energy Booster

If your child has a limited diet or is a picky eater, consider talking to their pediatrician about multivitamins or other supplements to ensure they are getting all the necessary nutrients. Little Spoon has a wide range of energy boosters aka multivitamins that can be given with the consultation of a pediatrician. I gave my children tons of them and have seen a difference in their performance in school.

Lead by example

Children often model their eating habits after their parents, so make sure you are setting a good example by eating a healthy, balanced diet yourself. Create a positive and relaxed atmosphere at mealtimes to encourage your child to enjoy their food. You can do this with the finger foods and toddler plates from Little Spoon, you can apply the Little Spoon coupon code as well.
